I’ve been following the Blue Zone project recently and it’s really had a positive effect on my day to day life. It identifies the nine characteristics that people who live the longest share. I wasn’t too surprised to see that it follows similar dietary concepts that I use: lots of vegetables, grains and other healthy carbs, but also balance and letting yourself have small treats once in a while.
It also emphasizes the importance of the mind-body connection, keeping positive thoughts and being connected with your spirituality. So this weekend take some time to relax. I’ve been doing yoga with one of my instructors and it’s been great to just have that hour to myself, to work out in a different way and bring the focus inward. This weekend book an extra yoga session, take an extra hour that is just for you, and help yourself live longer and happier lives!
