I suggested to a client that in life we must be flowers and gardeners. She thought I had said “or.” She chose to be the flower and yet felt like she was always been sholved around. She lost her strength. I reminded her that I had said we do both at different times and occasions. No matter what, we don’t need to lose our strength. Just because you feel weak does not mean you are. Have mental strength and keep the physical strength. When you are away for spring break, play both roles but be strong when making choices to workout. Sleep in, be healthy, and have fun. You can do it all! Just know that you are always strong. Be kind. It’s funny how life brings out so many different sides of us.  When we’re unhappy, angry, or upset we eat and/or drink more. Some people eat less, very few exercise more (I know I do). We say and do all sort of things.. Today, take a step back. No matter how you feel, the two things you can do which will benefit you are: Exercise and be kind.Try it. Things Happen For a Reason

And even if they don’t, you can make it work your way. When one door closes, another will open.  This week I was lucky enough to to finally hear what the Universe was trying to tell me this year. All we feel inside, good and bad is what we put out and what we create for ourselves. Think angry, fat, sad.. you will feel it and attract it. This applies to happy, good, strong, positive, and grateful. So when things happen that make you unhappy, Stop, wait, marinate, and listen. You will then hear the way it can be instead. 2017 Luck… Are you a lucky person?

  I read a article on luck. I feel I am incredibly lucky. I also know luck means hard work and I am lucky to love my work. I also know not to take it for granted. I am lucky to love exercise and working out , moving and feeling healthy. It takes time and it requires work. But if you view it as a chore, negative it will be unlucky for you. 2017 is going to be a great year. I know that and I thank you all ahead for making it so. I am truly grateful and yes very lucky. Progress

I felt more pressure over the last few weeks to avoid drinking or  indulging at the party or at dinner. The more pressure, the worse I ate and drank. I had a conversion with a nutritional client as we biked together.  She reflected how in two years since she met me the 10 pounds have stayed off. Not the 15 as she originally wanted, but she can start the new year  with losing that extra 5 pounds as her goal. She noticed during this holiday season – as soon as a bag of goodies arrived, she wrapped them up and sent them away after just a few tastes. When she was out, she might indulge but nowhere near as badly as before. She sees that this is a way of life and every year is progress. She adds extra steps and even planned a biking holiday this Christmas instead of sitting around in Palm Beach.  Before she leaves next Tuesday, she has training or cardio scheduled every day. Remember: this is a way of life. STOP.

I noticed this week that I was tired, eating more, and generally not as disciplined as I felt I wanted to be. Every time a holiday comes around, we put pressure on ourselves to get into shape, to not overeat, so that we can then go and binge or such after the event. I know for me, it’s not working. So, I woke up this morning and decided: no more pushing myself until after Thanksgiving. I’m just going to do my exercise, eat the best I can, get sleep, laugh, smile, and be grateful. Remind yourself that your exercise and eating is a way of life. If you want to make changes, exercise more, and just change your portions.
